Your own auto policy pays for crash care
Under Michigan No-Fault, your own auto insurer generally pays medical expenses for crash injuries through PIP, whoever was at fault. If you don’t have auto insurance, you may still qualify through the Michigan Assigned Claims Plan.
Insurers pay for care that is reasonable and medically necessary, so they ask for clear records. Our documentation lays out your diagnosis, exam findings and treatment plan from the first visit.

We work with personal injury attorneys on car accident cases
If you have a lawyer, we coordinate with their office: we send records and reports with your written permission, keep them updated on your treatment and answer their requests for documentation.
You don't need an attorney to be seen here, and your care is based only on your medical needs.
- Records

| Limit | Who it's for |
|---|---|
| Unlimited | Any driver who chose it; the most protection. |
| $500,000 | Any driver. |
| $250,000 | Any driver; some may exclude household members with other qualifying coverage. |
| $50,000 | Drivers enrolled in Medicaid, with household members covered by Medicaid or other qualifying coverage. |
| Opt out | Drivers with Medicare Parts A and B, when household members have other qualifying coverage. |

Car accident injury questions
Is there a deadline?
Michigan law generally requires written notice of your injury to the insurer within one year of the accident. Report the crash to your auto insurer as soon as you can.
Which PIP level do I have?
Since 2020, Michigan drivers choose a PIP medical limit: unlimited, $500,000, $250,000, $50,000 for some Medicaid enrollees, or an opt-out for some Medicare enrollees. Your declarations page shows yours, and we check it with you.
Is pain and suffering part of PIP?
No. PIP pays benefits such as medical care. Compensation for pain and suffering is a separate claim against the at-fault driver. We provide medical care and records only; an attorney can advise you on that claim.
Can you send records to my attorney?
Yes, with your written authorization. We send your records to whoever you choose.
